Superstars occurs over 2 days, 3 nights, once a year.  A sporting competition that demands skill, co-ordination, speed, strength, endurance and finesse beyond the capabilities of the athletes involved.  Competitors fly in from all over the world to participate in a variety of sporting events - day and night.

Events are divided into 2 categories:

  • Glory Events

    • 6 points winner, 4 points 2nd place, 2 points for 3rd place

    • GE's usually include: Cricket, tennis, 100mtrs, and 10 pin bowling... something for everyone

  • Other Events

    • 3 points winner, 2 points 2nd place, 1 points for 3rd place

    • There are usually another 6-7 other events

  • Paper-Rock-Scissors used as the ultimate decider

     

OPENING NIGHT CEREMONY - warm up beers and food with an event on the side

  • Pool tournament - shoot till you drop at the local pool hall

    • Winner decided by number of game wins.  Winner stays on the table.  Others challenge the winner.  Compulsory beer scull if winner has 3 game wins in a row (this should ensure that more than one person has a game win)

DAY ONE EVENT - the BIG day.  A full day of activities highlighted by an immense cricket match.

  • Cricket - points available for MOST RUNS and MOST WICKETS (ie. max 6 points available)

    • Full pitch style cricket with two overs per bowler, or net style cricket 

  • AFL shootout

    • scoring from different positions: long kick, straight in front, trick shot angles 

  • Long Jump

    • Best of 3 jumps 

  • Soccer penalty shootout

    • Number of shots depends on number of competitors - each competitor takes a turn in goal 

     

  • !! Mystery Event !!  - NEW ! 

    • A former SOS will phone-in LIVE from overseas with a mystery event.  What could it be?? 

DAY ONE NIGHT EVENT - a recovery event... of sorts.  More beer, food and athleticism.

  • Glow Bowling - 10 pin bowling with dodgy lighting, beers and horrible disco music

    • Total score from two games 

DAY TWO EVENT - day two separates the MEN from the BOYS.   Everything hurts... highlights are tennis and 100mtrs.

  • Tennis - knockout tennis tournament (seeded)

    • Best of three sets - games based upon seeded positions, top v bottom.  For example, last years winner plays last years loser.  Seeding to be decided on the day of play by the committee. 

  • 100 metres - Worlds Fasters Superstar of Sport !!!

    • Sub-20 seconds of blistering alcohol fuelled pace 

  • Brick-put  - A real crowd favourite

    • Best of three throws of the brick, in shot-put style.  Who is the strongest Superstars?  

  • Darts  - Traditionally the last event.  A wind-down, beers in hand, test of skill.

    • 201 knockout darts tournament (finish on a double!) - the ultimate decider ! 

 

CLOSING CEREMONY - medal presentation, official bragging rights handover, recovery beers
